The Minors Pooled Trust is a flexible trust option designed to comply with court orders and spendthrift requirements associated with minors’ settlements or financial allocations. The trust permits parents and legal guardians to allocate monies for minor children in trust with a range of features that allows access to the funds for the child’s Health, Education, Maintenance and Support (HEMS account); as well as total spendthrift protection to prevent wasteful dissipation of the funds (Blocked account). Account setup in the New Leaf Minors Pooled Trust is the same as that for the Pooled Special Needs Trust.
New Leaf provides fiduciary services for both 1st and 3rd party Stand-Alone Special Needs Trusts. We also consider the development of other Pooled Trust programs to address the needs of those that need fiduciary services, but may be turned away by traditional trust companies that have prohibitive account minimums.
